UV-A light offers a huge reduction in VOCs and CO2 emissions in the curing process – making it safer and easier for bodyshops to use and far better for the environment.
Greatly reduces energy use
Curing with UV-A light uses less energy and generates much lower surface temperatures, reducing the cooling phase – allowing painters to get straight onto the next stage of the repair, also reducing process times. It also means that it is no longer necessary to heat the entire spray booth or vehicle for the drying process. Plus it lowers the risk of plastic parts deforming during the refinishing process.
High painter safety
UV-A technology also enhances painter safety. UV curing lamps are fitted with a filter to block the UV-B and UV-C rays, so only UV-A wavelengths are emitted – the safest of the three wavelengths.

The method allows us to replace a share of the fossil resources in BASF’s Production Verbund with renewable resources.
The more, the better
The biomass balance approach involves using renewable resources such as bio-naphtha or biogas from organic waste or vegetable oils together with fossil resources during the manufacturing of basic products.
The equation
The biomass share is then mathematically allocated to certain commercial products according to the certified method.
Your influence
This means that your purchase influences the percentage of total renewable resources that are fed into our production.
