One hundred years ago, the scarlet macaw became part of Glasurit’s protected logo and the face of the Glasurit brand. On March 18th, 2025, Glasurit is celebrating the 100th birthday of the scarlet macaw – and just before International Colour Day, Glasurit will launch globally a “100 Colourful Years” campaign including a year-long series of engaging activities and events designed to bring customers and employees around the globe together. The “100 Colourful Years” campaign pays honor to Glasurit’s proud legacy of innovation, sustainability and premium quality in automotive refinishing.

The German Championships of Vehicle Painters come to an end with a celebratory awards ceremony in Münster. The young talents of the vehicle painting trade have been through two intense days of competition. In the Refinish Competence Center of the main sponsor Glasurit, they have given their all in the struggle for a place on the podium. Now the winners are confirmed. Lenina Gruis from Bremen is Germany's best young painter. A fantastic second place goes to Pauline Rosenetzki from Thuringia, followed by Jason Scherer from Saarland in third place.

Glasurit, the premium refinish paint brand of BASF, has introduced the EcoBalance portfolio for the commercial vehicle industry with nine products covering the full commercial vehicle paint process. EcoBalance products help save fossil raw materials and are certified to offer a significant reduction in CO2 emissions. The new portfolio can be combined with existing products used for the repair and OEM painting of commercial vehicles, such as trucks, buses and special vehicles.

The successful opening ceremony of the world's first WorldSkills Museum took place on November 6th at Yangpu Riverside in Shanghai. Glasurit®, a global partner of WorldSkills, joined this prestigious event.

BASF is stepping up its commitment to developing young talent for the global collision repair industry. Almost 600 of the most talented young professionals from 32 countries were celebrated at the EuroSkills Gdańsk 2023 Closing Ceremony on Saturday, 9 September for their commitment to achieving the world-class standard of excellence in their skills. In the Car Painting category, the best collision repair painters were awarded using Glasurit premium automotive refinish paint from BASF.
