Ready for Shanghai: Young talents sharpen their skills at the Glasurit Skills Challenge 2026

From the workshop to the WorldSkills stage

According to Ali Said Saleh, car painting instructor at College360 and Chief Expert for Car Painting at WorldSkills Shanghai 2026, the Glasurit Skills Challenge gave participants valuable experience that will benefit them when they compete on the international stage.

"The competition has been very similar to what participants will experience at WorldSkills. It was not completely identical, but it has prepared them well for Shanghai. They have learned to work under time pressure and gained a better understanding of the competition process," says Ali Said Saleh from College360. 

Participants worked with the same paint system from Glasurit that they will use at WorldSkills Shanghai 2026. As part of the preparations for WorldSkills, Glasurit also offers optional webinars for participants and experts. The webinars cover products, processes, colour knowledge and digital tools such as the Refinity platform.

Looking back on the competition, Ali Said Saleh highlights the commitment shown by the participants throughout the three days. 
"I am impressed by how skilled and dedicated all the participants have been. They have worked hard from morning to evening, and when they have encountered challenges, they have kept going", says Ali Said Saleh. 

The next time the participants meet, it will be on the WorldSkills stage in Shanghai in September.
