Glasurit showcases its color and paint competence at the Techno-Classica Essen 2019

Outstanding paint expertise for classic cars

While classic car fans count down the days until the 31st Techno-Classica kicks off, Glasurit, BASF’s premium refinish brand, is pulling out all the stops in preparation for its stand at the auto show with a wide range of new and informative features. The traditional automotive refinish brand will be making its eighth straight appearance at the classic car show, which will take place in Essen, Germany, from April 10 to 14, 2019.

Glasurit is displaying its powerful portfolio of products and services for preserving classic cars to the show visitors. Thousands of coated color chips are the eye-catchers at the stand measuring 80 square meters. They highlight the Glasurit slogan “The only one with all the colors”. Glasurit has the world’s largest database for automotive colors and has archived not only the current colors at, but also colors that date back to the infancy of the automobile.

At the Glasurit stand, classic car owners will find answers not only to the question where they can find the original color of the vehicle but also find out who is able to perform professional classic vehicle refinishing. In order to provide support for these issues, Glasurit presents its network of specialized body shops which are also recommended by the Fédération Internationale des Véhicules Anciens (FIVA), the international federation of historic vehicle clubs. Five of these certified body shops will present themselves and their expertise live at the Glasurit stand:

  • Wednesday, April 10, 2019: Hofmann Fahrzeugbau GmbH, Mainleus, Germany
  • Thursday, April 11, 2019: KFZ-Unfallinstandsetzung Helge Krüger e.K., Rosengarten, Germany
  • Friday, April 12, 2019: Werner Steinbreder GmbH, Melle, Germany
  • Saturday, April 13, 2019: hapitec GmbH, Düren, Germany
  • Sunday, April 14, 2019: Autoschade Herstel Heijstek, Werkendam, Netherlands

Glasurit will also be presenting a new micro-repair set that can be used in the future to repair micro damage such as stone chipping or mini-scratches particularly efficiently – without having to overcoat the original paintwork. In addition, Glasurit will illustrate how precisely body shops can measure colors today with the innovative RATIO Scan 12/6 measuring device.

Jürgen Book, Classic Cars Manager at BASF, who was recently honored by the Forum für Fahrzeuggeschichte (Vehicle History Forum), or F-kubik for short, and the 10-member Techno-Classica team will be available to answer classic car fans’ questions and take their suggestions on board at Glasurit’s stand 257 in Hall 3 near the West entrance.

For anyone unable to visit the Glasurit stand in person, Glasurit provides its historic paint and color competence on its website. At Glasurit Classic Car Colors offers access to the Glasurit color database with over 250,000 colors and more than 600,000 paint formulas, as well as to its network of specialized body shops.
