Glasurit represented at Automechanika with three booths

BASF’s premium refinish brand Glasurit will have three booths at Automechanika from September 13 to 17, 2022, and will be part of the daily workshop program. The automotive industry's leading international trade fair for equipment, parts, accessories, management and services in Frankfurt am Main is held every two years, alternating with the International Motor Show (IAA). More than 5,000 exhibitors will present their products on a total area of more than 315,000 square meters. Around 135,000 visitors from 180 countries are expected.

Workshop at the Academy

On September 13, between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., Glasurit/Farécla will offer a workshop on digitalization and painting. It will take place at the Glasurit booth at the Galleria level 1 (GAL 1 A01). In addition, a complete spray booth is set up here. Interested parties can register until August 31. The workshop will include an Introduction to Refinity, the cloud-based training module that combines videos, hands-on applications, and technical information. Participants will gain insights into the synergy effects of digitalization and craft in the refinish industry.

Body & Paint Contest

As in the previous year, this year's Automechanika will again host the international “Body & Paint” contest in which body shop professionals compete against each other. Under the motto “Mobility in Transition”, the artists will design their own artworks using various creative techniques. Two vehicle painters will compete for Glasurit: René Werl from Flensburg and Holger Schmidt from Hattingen. Schmidt was already able to achieve second place last year. Glasurit will be represented in the Networking Lounge in Hall 11.1 at booth D64F. The hoods will be on display there and Werl and Schmidt will explain to interested visitors which techniques and products were used.

Joint booth with ZKF

At the joint booth of Glasurit and the Central Association of Bodywork and Vehicle Technology (ZKF), body shop and classic car owners can exchange ideas and get information. The booth in Hall 12.0 B11 is all about private business regarding classic and vintage cars and the Glasurit body shop network.

“I’m looking forward to a lively exchange and many interesting discussions on topics relating to the network and the technical and business development of the body shops in this business segment. At our booth we will be able to showcase our unique color expertise in the field of Classic Car Colors”, said Jürgen Book, Classic Cars at Glasurit. Book himself will be giving two lectures on Tuesday, September 13. From 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. he will speak about the topic of “Classic Car Business – Opportunity and Pitfalls” together with Gerd Heinemann, BBE Automotive GmbH and from 11:00 to 11:30 a.m. about “Classic Car Technology – Paint Aspects in Aged Paintwork”. The auditorium is located in Hall 12.0 C41. The highlight at the booth will be a Porsche 911 (964), which will vividly demonstrate various methods for adapting to old paintwork layers.
