Glasurit, BASF’s premium Refinish paint brand, has extended its partnership with FIVA (Fédération Internationale des Véhicules Anciens) for another three years. Since 2016, Glasurit has been the exclusive global technical advisor for paint related topics of FIVA, the world federation of classic car clubs, which represents more than 2 million members in more than 75 countries worldwide. Main goal of the collaboration is providing access to the best repair and restoration solutions to classic car owners around the world. The success achieved by the partnership has now prompted FIVA to sign a new agreement in which it extends and intensifies its collaboration with Glasurit.

Tiddo Bresters, President of FIVA, welcomes the continuation of the partnership: “With Glasurit we have a skilled and passionate partner who is supporting FIVA with its skills and business connections. It is a real partnership with deep involvement in the FIVA commissions work. We appreciate Glasurit’s input for the new “Charta of Turin” handbook very much”. Mario Theissen, Senior Vice President of FIVA and in charge of FIVA business partners, adds: “FIVA is very happy with this partnership. Glasurit’s deep know-how about painting historic vehicles and its passionate approach makes a difference. Preservation of paint and the technical processes are very important for FIVA and its members”.

“The partnership with FIVA is a long-term success story for both parties and demonstrates premium paint expertise to preserve classic vehicles”, says Uta Holzenkamp, President of BASF’s Coatings division. “We are always close to our customers and know that car enthusiasts around the world love their classic vehicles. And with more and more countries showing high interest in classic vehicles and more car enthusiasts asking for original color refinish and after care, our reputation with our Glasurit brand grows across all refinish paint segments”. Due to the collaboration with Glasurit, FIVA can connect the classic car owners who are looking for feasible paint solutions with a network of specialized body shops. These experts support in finding an original color or the careful preservation or repair of an aged paintwork.

The signing of the new contract took place at the headquarter of BASF Coatings in Münster, the biggest paint factory in Europe and the home of the Glasurit brand. To celebrate the occasion, the FIVA senior executives joined a guided tour of the plant which highlighted BASF’s heritage, facilities, and expertise in coatings solutions for more than 130 years.
