24.02.2010 Glasurit opens Refinish Competence Centre in France

Glasurit recently opened its first Refinish Competence Centre (RCC) for automotive refinish products in France in the city of Montataire. In the future, Glasurit will train nearly 400 customers and trainers at the new center on an area of 600 square meters.

The opening brings the total number of Glasurit automotive refinishing training centers throughout the world to 36. “This step will allow us to make our global training network even tighter and help us support our customers even better,” said Kevin McDermott, who is responsible for Glasurit training all over the world. The new RCC is located in the Marches de l’Oise industrial park. At the new center, the customers will learn how to operate their bodyshops more quickly and efficiently and at a higher level of quality. The RCC features two different workshops, two spraybooths, two prep bays, a room with infrared, a spectrophotometer and a paint mixing area, as well as two classrooms.

McDermott is pleased. “This year, over 350 participants will be trained in around 40 seminars at the RCC in Montataire. At this one-of-a-kind facility, we can train bodyshop employees and spraypainters from the automotive industry in the best possible manner.”

Global training strategy

Each year, over 10,000 participants take part in the seminars and workshops offered by the training centers located throughout the world. The seminars are run according to the global training strategy that uses modern teaching methods to teach theory and practice. The quality of the courses is also defined by the quality of the trainers. Seven Global Trainers work for Glasurit. Based on the “Train the Trainer” principle, they train the approximately 150 National Head Trainers and 300 technicians in 65 countries. They in turn disseminate their know-how and experience to the customers in the individual countries.
